Teacher Bio

My name is Dr. Faybrena J. Walker.  I have been teaching for approximately 40 years with approximately 30 of those years into retirement.  Aside from teaching, I am an ordained minister of the gospel. I burn with a compulsion to proclaim the Word, share the Gospel, and help care for God’s flock.

I was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina.  I am the 9th child and the youngest of seven girls.   In 1979, my family and I moved to Tallahassee, Florida where my former husband became pastor of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.  We were married for 24 years, and raised four children (three girls and one boy, ranging from ages 34 to 45). Together, we have eleven grand-children and 2 great grand-children.

I graduated from Benedict College in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in Business Education.  Later, I attended Florida Agricultural University and earned my Master's Degree also in Business Education.   As you can see, learning is definitely in my blood; therefore, I decided to continue my education at Jacksonville, Theological Seminary where I received a Doctorate Degree in Christian Education.

I began my teaching career in South Carolina, and I have taught a variety of subjects to a wide array of learners, ranging from middle school to adult education.
